Elis made this little bow in preeschool and has decided to wear it all day. Could he be any cuter with his little grumpy face and a bow? ❤
I am the boxer… I am boxing everything in sight. Luckily my kids have managed to stay out of being boxed in but we´ll se about that. The house is a freaking mess and it is really getting on my nerves. But trying to see things on the bright side, I don´t have to clean this house after the move. A cleaning company is doing that for us. Thank you very much!
All the boxes upstairs are color coded so that we know what goes where but all the boxes in the downstairs room is not color coordinated yet so that is my job today after I finish up my schoolwork for today.
Can you belive there is a window back there? This room is filled to the brink soon and so is my patiens. I am so glad the new house have so much storage room we can put all boxes in there so we don’t have to have boxes all over the place while unpacking.
Since we are finally on the last week in the old house I felt it ok to bag all my clothing on hangers. Why waste boxes on things you can move from one rack to another?
Hm… I see a disturbing lack of pink in my wardrobe. I´ll have to fix that when spring comes.
Ok so we are officially on our last week in the old house (townhouse) and in a week we should be spending our first night in the new house!
I am so excited and equally stressed to get it all done, since I also have an exam due of friday next week.
The new house is in great condition and all we have to do is to put our own touch to it to make it feel like home. Can´t wait, but I have to because life is so busy and I have 10 weeks of internship coming up the first week after moving and the same week my daughter has 4 shows of Moana to perform. Ah! So many things to do!
But, decorating the house will have to take the backseat for a while and that is ok. All in good time. Patiens in my strongest feature… not!
Ok, so last night I baked a low carb (keto) cake to satisfy my sweettooth. It was super filling and all you need is a veeeery small bite to satisfy your craving. Trust me!
It was really easy and not at all compicated and I got a request for the recipe so here it comes.
Let cool and then enjoy with whipped cream and berries if you´d like. I did my own strawberry mix to ad on top and it works great as a jam substitute. Yum!
And you… a little goes a long way. This cake will last me atleast a week or more. I tried to freeze a piece to see how that works out. I´ll let you know.
I am telling you that weight is not my strongest side… No really. I have always been on the chubby, lets be honset, the fat side.
Having four kids and six pregnancies that all added weight to my body did not help. All my pregnancies that went full term I gained between 50-70 lbs. And having being pregnant 6 times in less than 6.5 years does not make losing weight between each baby easy and lets face it… Except from the first child where I did lose all the babyweight, it has all just piled on, and on… and on.
Now my youngest child is 3.5 years and it could not be called babyweight anymore, just weight.
But I have now lost all the babyweight and then some mostly due to stress that has caused me to lose all of my appetite. I am back to my highschool weight but interesting enough 3 jeansizes smaller than I was then… How did that happen?
Anyway, rambling on. I just needed some inspiration today to stick to my goal on reaching my goalweight before my youngest son turns 4 this summer and the scale is not moving at all (only up like 2 lbs lately). It is a bit discouraging but I know I just need to stick to it.
My appetite is coming back now and that is good I guess, but I still want to reach my goal. So just seeing how fare I have come is a good motivation. The before picture is actually NOT at my heaviest weight, but about 20 lbs lighter than fall 2016.
The last pounds is a bitch I heard… well, lets slap her in the face for once. 😉
And how is it that my butt and waist is shrinking but my head is growing? Must be my brain expanding from all the studying. 😛
How did you lose your babyweight or the last stubborn lbs?
For all of you hard working, tired moms and dads trying to stay awake while your kids are all over the place trying to play with you and you are crying insede for some rest? This my friend, could save your life. Take is from one who has raised 6 children.
This is a must see.
Good morning lovelies! Monays are one of my favourite days. Why? Routines maybe. However there is a serious lack of routines when you are less than 2 weeks from moving houses. The house is a mess and it drives me crazy.
Went to Lidl to pick up some boxes to pack in since we are using a lot more boxes than we planned. Shocker right?! 😛
I also pack everything in the way I want them to be in the new house i.e not just shoving things in to boxes, but planning what goes in what box and what room the box is going in. I color code all the boxes so that come movingday, it is going to be easier knowing what goes where and what is in the boxes.
That also includes not packing any clothes or seasonal clothing that is dirty. So I am currently washing the kids rainsets so I can pack them as I am trying to get some studying done too. Busy bee here!
And I finally got myself a new hat. My darling daughter borrowed the one I decided to buy after years of trying to justify the price. And now it is nowhere to be found. Unless it shows up while moving, I guess I am not the only one who wanted that beanie… It really ticks me off when the childrens clothes get stolen in school. It would not be the first time. Last year my sons winter jacket got stolen and I got furious! How can a parent not notice if their kids come home with a “new” jacket or any kind of clothing labeled with another childs name and phonenumber? And if they do notice, why will they keep it and not bring it back? Any good answers to that?
My daughter and her friends got in the habit of borroing eachothers shoes and jackets after school and I quickly put an end to that since it is a conflict bound to happend. So did I notice her “new” shoes? Yes! Did we return them and got hers back? Heck yes… ok, getting sidetracked here… I really like my new one. Lets hope I get to keep it.
Behold the mess… And yes… the tree is still up.
Never move dirty clothes. The last thing you want is to start of washing everything in your new house.
So how many of you have kids that think money grows on trees, or maybe just magically appears on to that plastic card of yours?
Mine sure did, and that is when I realized that they needed to get a grip on money, budgeting and finances. It really is not as hard as you may think and here are some tips and tricks for you to use when teaching your children about money.
First of all, maybe you need to change the way you think about money? Money is not a bad thing. Money is a good thing, and can be used in many wonderful ways.
I Gave them an income
First, I made sure they have money to budget with. My kids do have an allowance every week around $4. That is what they get when all homework is done, behaviour is on point and they do chores I ask them to do when needed. That is how they earn their allowance.
In addition to that, they have the possibility to earn some extra cash by doing things that are “extra jobs” not included in their chores. My kids can get really creative in coming up with ways to earn extra money. My daughter sometimes offers a salon visit and do your hair and makeup for $ 1-2 and I am all for supporting creative ideas and I get a funky hairdo at the same time.
Tracking their money
Every time they get money they write it down in their budget book with dates, amounts and what kind of income it was. That way they can keep track on their income and how much they have in their piggy banks. In that book they also track their spending. I want them to know where every dollar ends up and since they started tracking their money, they spend less of it.
Nothing is for free
Well, most things are not anyway. You better choose wisely on how to spend your money. Make sure your children get to see you doing your budget to make them realize that few things in life are free or comes without effort.
Time is money
I also wanted them to understand that time is money. I told my children that just because you have the cash to buy something you always need to consider how much time it took you to earn that $20 they might want to spend. When they realize it took them weeks and weeks, they are less prone to spend their money on things they really don´t need.
Want vs Need
Let your children make a list of things your family needs to survive and a list of things that are wants. Food is a need, so is housing and utilities. Candy, toys and brand name clothing however is wants. You should rarely spend your money on needs. That money is better of in a savings account . Some day they will wish they had $600 in the bank than 10 Nerfguns, 15 Xbox games and 15 extra lbs of fat on their body from spending money on candy. Just saying…
The power on interest
My kids are now good at saving money and I stepped it up a notch and decided to offer them interest for ever dollar they saved. Every June and December I will give them a 10% interest on the money they have saved at that time. No bank will give you 10% in savings interest but this “Bank of Mom” does, just to teach them how it works. This got them even more fired up and June might be the month I break the bank as they cash in.
Never spend money you do not have
All parents know that children will eventually ask to borrow some money and so have mine and the answer is always “no”. If they do not have the money to buy something, they can not afford it and I tell them to save up or add it to their wish list for Christmas och birthdays.
Some say this is a bit harsh, but getting in to the habit of using money you do not have is like getting on a train going down a cliff – a really bad idea.
I also told them what happens if you borrow money from the bank and how they will charge you interest on that money and that is pretty dumb.
Punchline if you want something save up or let it go.
And since I am not (that) evil, I will sometimes give them a little cash for a special event if they have done well and being wise with thair money, kept up with schoolwork and have a good attitude. They are kids still, but this is a very rare occurrance.
Teach them generosity
Having money gives you the opportunities to help others. Teach your children to become generous givers. This is best taught by leadning by example. You should always give to others.
I hope this gave you some ideas on how to teach your children about money and being responsible with their future savings.
If you have kids you just have to read the title to understand what I am talking about. One day your little angel will start talking and saying the sweetest things that makes your heart grow and overflow. (I rhymed. How cool am I?)
Suddenly that cute little thing will open its mouth and say something that makes you blackout. One of the following thoughts might cross your mind.
I have been there so many times having 4 kids and 2 stepchildren (now adults), I should have gotten an olympic medal for surviving all of this.
So, to make you feel like a better parent I am giving you 5 embarrasing mom moments in this video. Enjoy and remember there is always someone worse than you 😉
I love white. It is the most usefull and pretty color when it somes to homedecor and all thinks pretty. So when we renovated our kitchen 2 years ago I chose a white composite sink from IKEA. It sure looks pretty. For about 30 seconds if you have children and if you actually use it.
Every single day I would scrub and sweat and swear (?) trying to clean this darn thing and still it would not be white, the closest I came was a greyish white with scuffmarks. Suck that…
But after a little reasearch I found a lot of people talking about the magic erasers, sponges that is supposed to remover all things from crayon on the walls, to crazy exes… or maybe not the latter, but most things. And if you like my cool Batman earrings I will link a similar pair in this post.
So I got me som magic and went to town and darn me it worked like a charm! Just wash your sink like you normally would and remove the rest with the magic sponge. Love it! I can not belive that my sink is this clean with for little monsters (love them, but they are little monsters when it comes to cleaning) living with me.
Two years of hardcore use and it still looks this fresh. Sweet.
If you live in a place where you can´t find them in a store, just get them on Amazon. It will save your life 😉
